Grandma’s sneakers

Yesterday we got these great photos from Marjorie Wood of Grandma Gatewood’s Converse sneakers from the Gallipolis Historical Society. We know that Emma loved to hike in sneakers and they became synonymous with her “Grandma” persona. She wore out many many pairs along the way and so various museums and even a store along the AT has a pair. We wanted to make sure that Converse was the brand of preference which you can see from this photos. She was truly an innovator in trail gear and “fashion”.
